Traditional Cypriot grape spirit, double-distilled from the pressings left after winemaking. Clear, potent, and surprisingly smooth when served from the freezer in small glasses. The custom is to accompany it with dried fruit and nuts — a combination that works better than it has any right to. The island's answer to grappa, and arguably its superior.
